How long will Niger seed last in my feeder?
Niger contains natural, high calorie oils which attract birds such as Goldfinches. However, when the oil dries out the birds will leave the seed as it loses both its food value and flavour.
We recommend having Niger seed in your feeder no longer than 3-4 weeks before replacing. If bird activity slows down, then only fill your feeder halfway to reduce waste.
