TURNIP FIELD 5.77 Hectares 14 acres

Historically Southdown has been a grass farm and no doubt at some stage a field was taken out to grow a root crop to feed the sheep during the winter months. Turnips were a popular root for sheep and that's probably where this field has got it's name. This field holds many pair of Hares and is good for Snipe in the winter as it tends to stay rather wet.
