GREAT MAINS 20.3 Hectares 50 acres
Named after the mains water pipe that was put in along the farm lane to service the barns that were developed in1987. I will try to find out what it was called before this as it is so recent and it would be nice to know it's historic name. Most of the fields have had banks taken out to make them larger so naming a particular field may be difficult.
A field we used for the pigs it has turned up the odd rarity in it's time. Pectoral sandpiper, Corncrake, Black kite, Lapland bunting.
One of our largest fields, shown here with Malborough in the distance. The footpath down the side of Great Mains links to Bolberry or Hope Cove.
