2011

1-1      c40 Lapwing in Perratons field.

JAN      Reports of up to 110,000 starlings roosting at Thurlestone

21-2      10 Cirl buntings in farm yard feeding on spilt grain (5f and 5m)

13-3      Chiffchaffs singing in willows

19-3      m Wheatear in Soar Mill cove, 2 stock doves.

20-3      Firecrest in Waypark.

24-3      2 White wagtails in Decca

25-3      3 Swallows in from the sea.

28-3      2 House martins over farm ponds

29-3      Red kite in valley, 2 blackcaps, 9 willow warblers, 12 chiffchaff NMR

04-4      Redstart in yard.

11-4      Whitethroats singing on the farm, wood warbler caught and ringed in willows.

25-5      First cuckoo for 4 years on the farm.

3-6      2 Red kites flew in from the sea NMR.

2-7      c30 Swifts feeding over wild bird mix in Decca.

10-7      Up to 60 swifts, swallows and martins feeding in Decca. Approx 100 house sparrow around the farm.

10-7      2 juv peregrines with female'playing ' 600 feet up

AUG      c60 greenfinches in the garden, very good numbers of juv whitethroat on the farm along with cirl bunting.

8-8      First autumn juv wheatear in Decca.

18-8      Tree pipit,3 yellow wagtails, 3 swifts, 7 dunlin and 15 wheatears.

19-8      Quail in Mushroom field.

24-8      Quail in Decca

31-8      25 white wagtails and 10 yellow in plough and grass.

3-9      Wryneck in Soar Mill Cove NMR

4-9      3 spotted flycatcher, c30 blackcap, wheatears and chiffchaffs.

2011      RSPB - 25 known breeding territories of cirl bunting up to 30 on whole farm.

26-9      100's meadow pipits and returning skylarks.

1-10      Short-eared owl and fPied flycatcher.

2-10      Fall of wheatear c70, fMerlin.

4-10      8 swallows.

6-10      13 crossbills.

7-10      Groups of swallows passing through all day.

11-10      Ring tail hen harrier.

13-10      2 Firecrest

21-10      Yellow-legged gull on Decca

22-10      2 Swallows, 2 wheatear and a med gull at South Milton

24-10      5 Ring ouzels in the valley

Oct/Nov      Ring tail Hen harrier hunting at Southdown

06-11      Great Bustard at South Milton

06-11      Pomarine skua off shore.

09-11      Single lapwing in Ranks

11-11      50 lapwing in Perratons.

20-11      Great bustard, wing tag 18 landed in Mushroom field at 11am stayed till 4pm.
