1-1            Barn Owl flying around office at night

3-1            4 Snipe feeding in Great Mains, still 100's of Skylarks in Decca field.

5-3            Common gull with Herring gulls following cultivator

6-3            Pair of Short-eared owls in Great Mains, may have over wintered. 6 Snipe also.

13-3          10 Buzzards following the cultivator, 1 Merlin

16-3          2 Short-eared owls and a Barn owl hunting fields, 12 Reed bunting on spilt millet seed.

21-3          2m Wheatear and 20 Pied wagtails in Great Mains.

5-4            Willow warbler in garden

7-4            3 Swallows arrived

21-4           Swallows, Martins and Wheatears in off the sea all day. Whitethroat in hedges.

22-4           f Pied flycatcher in garden

29-4           Swifts arriving, Short-eared owl in Ranks

1-5            Short-eared owl again in Perratons.

3-5            3 Whimbrel flew over farm.

5-5            Cuckoo seen in valley, m Peregrine hunting along cliffs.

8-5            Garden warbler singing in Soar valley, Mallard with 6 day old chicks on pond.

11-5          Spotted flycatcher at the Crag, Jay down Soar valley & singing Sedge warbler.

29-5          Turtle dove in yard, Cirl bunting nesting in garden hedge 10 meters from office.

13-6          Barn owl has 3 freshly hatched chicks with 2 eggs to go!

7-7            Barn owl has 3 good sized chicks and one smaller. Ringed on 15th picture

24-7          juv Chiffchaffs appearing on the farm, ready to leave.

26-7          Snipe in Decca field. Baby Hares and Pheasants in Soar Mill field.

4-8            Wheatear in Decca, first autumn migrant.

8-8            Partridge has had 4 young, juv Peregrines practising their flying skills with parents over cliffs.

14-8          3 Whimbrel flew over, 2 calling Ringed plover, Willow warbler and Blackcap in valley ready to leave.

20-8          Young Barn owl found dead ring no GH68884, 2 Sedge warbler in Turnip field.

22-8          imm warbler in Southdown valley, looked like a very yellow Grasshopper warbler?

23-8          Yellow wagtails at Southdown.

14-9          Quail in Ranks and a f Redstart around buildings.

25-9          Firecrest, dozen Chiffchaff and a f Redstart in the garden.

1-10          4 House Martin around farm house, Meadow pipits moving through.

2-10          A few Swallows still about.

3-10          White, Pied and a Yellow wagtail moving through. 16 Canada geese flew over.

4-10          Snow bunting with Linnets (first seen at East Soar).

9-10          Black redstart in farm yard. 4 Swallows

10-10        Firecrest down farm track, c60 House martin leaving over the sea.

15-10        One Lapwing in Perratons

19-10        2 Wheatear and a Merlin in Decca, Golden Plover flew over.

20-10        Yellow-browed warbler, Firecrest and several Ring ouzels in Soar valley.

29-10        f Reed bunting and Golden plover

31-10        c120 Stock dove, 1 Ring ouzel in valley.

1-11          80+ Wood pigeon, 30 Fieldfare, Reed buntings on the farm. Clouded yellows and Dragonflies still about.

2-11          c4,000 Wood pigeon off to the continent in just 1 hour.

3-11          c10,000 Wood pigeon, Wood lark in Waypark (Bob Burrage)

4-11          juv Woodchat shrike in Ranks (Steve Cox) 

9-11          30+ Meadow pipit on Decca, still Red admirals and a Clouded yellow around. 6 Long-tailed tits in Soar valley

11-11        Shrike was caught and ringed, still here 22nd (latest British record)

18-11        Good numbers of Reed bunting around field edges
